Game Mathematician III

Overview

We are looking for a Game Mathematician to join us in delivering the next generation of digital casino and lottery products for a worldwide audience. We are an enthusiastic team undergoing a technology shift.

Game Mathematicians within the Specialty product line work on both adapting existing slot machine mathematics for Specialty lottery markets and creating mathematics for new game concepts. The role involves converting and enhancing proven casino game mathematics to meet the requirements of new jurisdictions and products, while also designing mathematical models from the ground up based on mathematical briefs and Game Designer vision.

This position requires strong mathematical and technical skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Game Mathematicians are also responsible for evolving the mathematical behavior of existing games for brand extension titles and game variants, ensuring engaging gameplay experiences while meeting product and regulatory requirements.

You will be part of a Belgrade studio team which produces games for Specialty lottery markets, but very often you will be in contact with colleagues from different studios (EU, US & Canada) who provide support for tools and mathematical calculations.

In your daily routine, you will work closely with Game Developers, Game Mathematicians, QA, Project Managers, Game Designers, as well as consultants from external laboratories that verify the game before it is released to the market.

What you will be working on

• Using various internally developed tools to adapt, convert, analyze, and create game mathematics
• Changing the existing mathematical logic, if required, to meet requirements of the new market
• Design and develop mathematical models for new game concepts based on mathematical briefs and Game Designer requirements
• Create game mathematics from the ground up, including paytable structures, feature mechanics, probability models, RTP targets, and volatility balancing
• Work together with Game Designers to tune payouts and gameplay characteristics
• Collaborate with Game Designers during concept development to ensure engaging gameplay while meeting product and regulatory requirements
• Modify and extend the mathematical behavior of existing games for brand extension titles and game variants
• Write Python simulations to evaluate and validate the mathematical logic of our games
• Analyze and optimize game performance metrics, ensuring mathematical consistency across new concepts and franchise extensions
• Work closely with Developers as well as with other teams during the game development lifecycle
• Prepare the necessary mathematical documentation for technical approval, ensuring that jurisdictional requirements are met
• Be the internal contact person for requests and questions concerning game mathematics from external laboratories

Must-haves

• Good knowledge of Python and ability to prove it during our assessment
• English language written/spoken is needed for communication with studios abroad
• Mathematical knowledge of statistics and probability is necessary
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics
• 4+ years of experience in mathematics, statistics, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Being precise, detailed, and exact
• Proactive and a team player (cooperating with other teams and having a curious mindset)
• Solid technical English as well as effective communication skills

Nice-to-have

• Ability to understand and analyze C# code will be a plus

Test

• Candidates will be asked to complete assignments in programming (Python) and basic probability calculations based on a simple slot game example, as these are required for the position
• You'll have 2-3 days to complete the test

Technical interview (~1h)

• Assessment of the candidate's skills, including a face-to-face guided Python assessment and basic statistical mathematics questions
• Salary and terms agreement
