Senior Quantitative Developer

Our company is seeking a mid to senior Quantitative developer for a full-time role in Nis or Belgrade. 

What you are going to work on:

Work with a professional team of software engineers supporting the operations of a successful hedge fund business. Work includes enhancing and expanding the client's home-grown portfolio management system as well as its pricing, analytics and risk modules. The role will best suit a motivated and ambitious team player who has a passion for technology in financial modeling and development and is open to continuous learning.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop quantitative financial models
• Develop scalable, cross-platform back-end solutions
• Implement microservices
• Write clean and sustainable code
• Maintain existing code and improve performance
• Identify bugs and bottlenecks
• Participate in regular code reviews, sharing insightful feedback and guidance with your co-workers

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of relevant software development experience as a Java developer
• Experience with quantitative modeling, and financial mathematics
• Excellent foundation in OOP and design patterns
• Strong programming, profiling, and debugging skills
• Experience with relational databases
• Experience with testing libraries (e.g., JUnit, TestNG)
• Fluent in English, spoken and written

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Quantitative finance, Electrical engineering, Math, or a related quantitative field
• Enthusiasm for finance and a genuine interest in the financial markets
• Experience in financial industry is a plus
• Proficient with code versioning tools such as Git
• Knowledge of back-end architectural principles
• Experience with Python
• Experience with NoSQL databases
• Experience with Kafka and/or JMS
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum development environments
• Knowledge of bond and swaps pricing is a plus
• Knowledge of derivatives pricing and risk management is a plus
