Software Tester (Fintech)

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester with 1–3 years of experience to join our growing FinTech team. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers and Third Parties to ensure that software solutions meet business requirements and are thoroughly validated before release.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and functional testing to ensure software changes are delivered with the highest level of quality and minimal impact to existing functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business and functional requirements to understand the expected system behaviour.
• Help in preparation of test scenario, test cases and test scripts
• Execute and document test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements.
• Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on new features and enhancements.
• Execute regression testing before every software release.
• Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution.
• Validate defect fixes and perform re-testing where required.
• Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure business requirements have been fully implemented.
• Collaborate with Developers and third parties to investigate reported defects and verify implemented solutions.
• Prepare and maintain testing documentation and test evidence.
• Support release activities by validating production readiness.
• Participate in requirement walkthroughs and solution reviews.
• Assist in improving testing processes and standards across the organisation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–3 years' experience in Software Testing or a similar role.
• Good understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
• Experience preparing and executing manual test cases.
• Experience performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Regression Testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within Financial Services or FinTech.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
• Understanding of Agile (Scrum or Kanban) methodologies.
• Experience testing payments, digital banking, card processing, or financial applications.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for validating test data is considered an advantage.
• Any experience with automated testing tools is considered an asset. 
• Any relevant certifications are considered an asset.
