As Global Head of IT, you will take full responsibility for the company’s IT organization, infrastructure, and long-term digital development. You’ll lead a cross-functional team and serve as the central link between IT, business operations, and executive leadership—ensuring stability, security, and innovation across all systems and processes.

Key responsibilities

1. Strategy and leadership

• Define and execute the global IT strategy in alignment with executive management
• Lead, coach, and grow the IT team
• Design and optimize IT structures and internal processes
• Plan, manage, and monitor the global IT budget

2. Infrastructure and systems

• Oversee all IT infrastructure: network, servers, cloud, hardware, and clients
• Ensure availability, scalability, and security of systems
• Implement and manage Microsoft 365, Azure, and virtualization technologies
• Standardize tools and technologies across the company

3. IT security and compliance

• Implement and enforce IT security policies and GDPR-compliant data protection
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments
• Develop and maintain business continuity and backup strategies
• Promote IT security awareness across the organization

4. Applications and digitalization

• Ensure smooth operation of ERP, CRM, DMS, and other business-critical applications
• Identify opportunities for digital transformation and automation
• Lead system migrations, upgrades, and rollouts
• Collaborate with departments to optimize IT-supported processes

5. Project management and vendor coordination

• Lead and deliver cross-functional IT projects
• Manage external IT vendors and evaluate performance
• Ensure projects meet scope, deadlines, and budget requirements
• Report regularly to executive leadership

Your profile

• Degree in computer science, business informatics, or a similar field
• Several years of experience in a senior IT role with leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, security, and applications
• Experience with cloud platforms (i.e., Microsoft 365, Azure), ITIL, and project management
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Fluency in German (spoken and written) and solid English proficiency
• Willingness to travel and flexibility to work across time zones
